ABOUT THE STUDY (monitoring study is closed)

Welcome! This is a research study. We are interested in talking to people who:
  • Are age 18 or older,
  • Had their thyroid biopsied (sampled with a needle)
  • Were offered surgery
  • Decided not to have surgery, at least for now
If this is you, we want to learn from your experience.

We are collecting the stories of people like you, and will create a tool that can help other patients going through similar experiences.

Taking part involves a taped phone interview of about an hour.
We will ask:
  • how your thyroid finding was discovered,
  • how you came to monitor it rather than have surgery right away,
  • and what that experience has been like for you.
While we would use your data for the research study, whether you allowed your data to be included in anything we create at the end for other patients to hear would be up to you.
