discovering the
thyroid nodule

A Typical example:

I had a sinus infection, and so I went to an ENT. She touched me around my thyroid, which I think was her standard operating procedure, and she said, “Hey, I think I feel a little bump. It’s probably nothing but I think I feel something so, you know, let’s get an x-ray.” And then they did that and it showed something, and they still didn’t think it was a big dea,l but they did suggest a fine needle biopsy, which they did, and it came back as cancer.
