STUDY iNFORMATION SHEET - the basics
This is a research study to understand the experience of people who were told they had something in their thyroid that was (or might be) cancer, but who decided not to have surgery right away.
Our goal is to collect people’s stories, and then organize them into something that represents those experiences and can be shared with others.

what this study involves
To take part, you will have a taped phone interview that will last about one hour and be transcribed. You will be asked about how your thyroid finding was discovered, how you came to watch it rather than have surgery right away, and what that experience has been like for you. You do not have to answer all the questions if you do not want to.
Your data will be kept confidential, only the research team will be able to see it. Data you provide might be chosen to be part of the work that we want to release to the public. If that happens, we will contact you - you get to decide whether or not your data are used, and if so, in what format you will allow it to be released (such as written instead of your voice).
Before you can sign up, you need to read the study information sheet on the next page. At the bottom, you can click a button to sign up. There's also a button in case you have questions and want to talk.
